Yoga to Overcome Hair Problems

In today’s stressed life one cannot escape oneself from hair fall or other hair problems and add to it other factors like hormonal disorder, diseases, bad eating habit, drugs, hair dyes, dandruff and smoking causes stress.  With Yoga, meditation, pranayama and proper diet, many hair problems can be reduced as these forms of exercises improve blood circulation to the different parts of the body like scalp and get the desired level of oxygen flow. Meditation and Pranayama also help us to get relief from stress which ultimately prevents hair loss and gives us shining and strong hair. Shakti Yoga Peeth provides Yoga teacher training classes to learn these asanas.

Maximum of the forward bending asanas helps blood circulation towards the head, retains scalp hygiene and gain good growth. With the practice of the following asanas, you can get the results you so long desiring.

Adho Mukha Savasana (Downward Dog Pose)

Adho Mukha Savasana increases blood circulation and is also best for sinus and cold. It gives relaxation to the mind, reduces mental tiredness, depression, and insomnia. This asana looks similar to Dog when you bend forward and gives amazing benefits which make it extremely essential for you to practice it every day. A beginner can also easily do this asana. However, before doing it make sure to keep your stomach and bowel empty. It also might be a great idea to leave a gap of few hours between your last meal and the exercise. This would also give you sufficient time for food to get digested well. This asana would work best if you practice it in the morning.

Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand)

This asana helps provide nourishment to the thyroid gland which means healthy function to the respiratory, alimentary, genital and nervous system. In this asana, you raise the body up with the support of your shoulders and hands and hence reverse the blood flow. While doing this pose, your neck gets locked and blood flow gets reduced towards the neck and the head.  It also increases the blood flow to the lungs. The hair gets ultimately required the level of nourishment.

Uttanasana (Standing forward pose)

It is an intense stretching pose which improves the circulation of the blood. In English, it is also known as a powerful stretch pose. It requires you to bend down and try to touch the toes, which makes the head reaches below the heart and increases the blood circulation on your head instead of feet, which improves the level of oxygen in the head.  However, before you start this asana make sure to keep your stomach and bowels empty.  It is the bit difficult for the beginner but you can gently bend your knees and allow the sacrum get deep into the back portion of the pelvis.

Pawanmuktasana (Wind-relieving pose)

It is very easy to do the pose and helps to release digestive gases from the stomach and intestine. It is also known as One-Legged Knee to Chest Pose. Practice it easy morning so that the trapped gasses in the digestive tract is released.

Digestive problem is also one of the causes of the hair problems, and if the digestive tract and stomach are clear, hair problems would get solved.

Vajrasana (Adamintine Pose)

Vajrasana is also popularly known as Thunderbolt. It deals with the notion that pranayama is also performed in Vajrasana position. It makes the human body strong, cures stomach disorders, improves blood circulation, gives relief from constipation, reduces obesity and stress. It also makes the muscles strong.

There are some of the pranayama exercises also which are best for the hair growth.

Anulom Vilom Pranayama (Alternate nostril breathing)

This pranayama is one of the best exercises that needs breathe coordination and hence lead to higher rate of metabolism. It makes the metabolism muscles strong and improves the respiratory organs.  It also promotes the healthy hair growth and nourishes the scalp. It also helps cure all the mental issues of tensions and anxiety which are the main causes of hair loss and other hair problems.

Kapalbhati Pranayama

Kapalbhati Pranayama involves inhalation and exhalation. During inhalation process, the stomach sinks and during exhalation, it’s vice verse. This stomach movement benefits the abdominal and stomach muscles which include liver and pancreas. It also improves the blood flow. During the process, the brain cells get maximum oxygen which is best for nervous system and hence allow better hair growth. It also helps in digestion and removes acidity and other gas related issues. It also helps in reducing belly fat and makes the lungs strong. This asana also removes the toxin level from the body.

Bhastrika Pranayama

It is one of the best breathing exercises that can be performed either way, either fast or slow. It helps in removing the excessive wind, bile, and phlegm from the body and purifies the nervous system which is essential for the better hair growth. It also makes the lungs strong and helps in removing allergies.  The pose also calms the mind and help in improving the immune system.

Yoga is based on the simple principle, Self Help. You help yourself and rest would be taken care of.
